high speed flexo press

This content introduces design principles, core structural upgrades, applicable scenarios and matching process requirements of high speed flexo presses, and analyzes differences between high-speed models and conventional low-speed flexo printing equipment.

A high speed flexo press is a upgraded flexographic printing machine specially optimized for long-term uninterrupted mass production, which can maintain stable high-precision printing operation under ultra-fast linear web speed. Compared with conventional ordinary flexo presses, high-speed models have upgraded transmission structures, enhanced drying capacity, optimized tension control systems and reinforced mechanical fuselage, solving common quality defects such as registration deviation, ink smudging and substrate stretching under fast running conditions.

Industry unified speed classification defines flexo presses with stable production speed over 200 meters per minute as high speed flexo presses. Most narrow web high-speed label flexo presses support 200 to 350 meters per minute stable speed, while wide web high-speed flexo presses for flexible packaging can reach 350 to 600 meters per minute. The maximum instantaneous mechanical speed is 15 percent higher than the rated stable speed, reserved for emergency speed adjustment during production.

Reinforced fuselage and transmission structure is the primary hardware upgrade of high speed flexo presses. The whole machine adopts thickened cast iron frame to reduce vibration generated by high-speed operation, avoiding periodic printing stripes caused by mechanical jitter. Besides, gearless servo transmission structure replaces traditional gear transmission, eliminating gear wear and gear mark defects that are easy to appear in long-time high-speed operation of traditional mechanical presses.

Upgraded high-efficiency drying system is an essential supporting module for high-speed flexo printing. As the substrate passing time through the drying tunnel is greatly shortened under fast running speed, ordinary drying modules cannot realize complete ink curing. High-speed presses are equipped with multi-stage combined drying systems including hot air circulation, infrared pre-drying and UV post-curing modules to ensure thorough ink drying and prevent ink back-sticking after substrate rolling.

Intelligent real-time register correction system is standard configuration for all high speed flexo presses. High-speed web operation is prone to subtle tension fluctuation leading to color register deviation. The built-in visual inspection system can detect tiny registration errors in real time and automatically correct parameters without manual shutdown adjustment, greatly reducing production waste and improving continuous operation efficiency.

High speed flexo presses are mainly applied to large-batch standardized printing orders including daily chemical packaging films, food packaging bags, mass commodity labels and nonwoven fabric products. Although the procurement cost and daily power consumption are higher than ordinary presses, the remarkable improvement in daily output reduces unit printing cost significantly, bringing higher economic benefits for large printing factories with sufficient order volume.
