Working Principle and Synchronization Control Technology of Full Servo Driven Flexo Press
This technical article explains working principle of gearless full servo driven flexo presses, analyzes high-precision servo synchronization control logic, and compares mechanical difference between servo-driven and traditional gear-driven flexo presses.
Servo driven flexo press cancels all mechanical gear transmission structures adopted by traditional flexo presses, and every plate cylinder, impression cylinder and anilox roller is driven by independent high-precision servo motor. It realizes electronic phase synchronization instead of mechanical gear meshing transmission, eliminating mechanical backlash error fundamentally.
Mechanical gear backlash is the inherent precision defect of traditional gear-driven flexo presses. After long-time operation, gear wear will cause accumulated transmission clearance error, leading to gradual register deviation and unstable printing pressure. Servo gearless structure completely removes mechanical transmission clearance, maintaining long-term stable printing precision without wear error.

High Speed Flexo Printing Machine - Stack Flexo Flexo Printing Machine
Master-slave servo synchronization control core algorithm. One main servo motor sets the overall production running speed, and all other slave servo motors follow the main shaft phase signal in real time. The phase synchronization error between all servo shafts is controlled within 0.001ms, ensuring consistent linear speed of all printing cylinders under high-speed operation.
Electronic stepless repeat length adjustment advantage of servo flexo presses. Without replacing mechanical plate cylinders, operators can modify printing repeat length directly through touch screen to adapt different pattern sizes. It takes less than 1 minute to adjust repeat length, while traditional gear presses need more than 1 hour to replace physical cylinders.
Independent tension servo control for each printing unit. Every color printing unit is equipped with independent tension servo system, realizing segmented tension adjustment. It solves the full-web tension unevenness problem of integral tension control system, adapting to ultra-thin film and thick board substrates simultaneously.
Long-term operational stability advantage of
servo driven flexo presses. Servo motors have no mechanical wear parts, so printing precision will not decline with the increase of equipment running time. Compared with gear-driven presses needing regular gear gap calibration, servo presses reduce daily mechanical maintenance workload by more than 50%.
